The stairs of Cirith Ungol sure are steep, and although the La Sportiva’s Aragon Climbing Shoe doesn’t shine when orcs are near, it does provide the grip necessary to keep you from slipping down like a sad Samwise. Comfortably asymmetric and somewhat downturned, the Aragon Climbing Shoe is an excellent choice for newer climbers looking for an upgrade from their first pair. Its leather upper stretches to give a comfier fit, and it’s a tasty snack for Shelob, giving you enough time to run away barefoot like the hobbits you’re trying to protect.
