Whether you’re familiar with them or not, if you’re a climber, you should be thanking Wild Country for the protection you have under you every time you’re on the sharp end. The first camming device brought to market was the Friend, designed by Ray Jardine and unleashed to the climbing community by Wild Country in 1977. This design laid the groundwork for all camming devices that came after it, including the line of Friends and Zero friends that are still in Wild Country's line today.
Since then, Wild Country has been at the forefront of design in the climbing world, making climbing harnesses, stoppers, carabiners, and some of the world’s foremost ascenders. With a philosophy of pushing the limits of what’s possible, the company is focused on uncompromising designs and equipment that lets users pursue the art of pure climbing in their everyday lives.
